Serbia ranks 53th in the GCI 2019.
Serbia has improved its score in 4G investment over the last year. It now scores full marks for
mobile broadband subscriptions. In addition, there was also an increase of 1 point for the GCI
indicators for Internet usage, download speeds, and cloud experience.
Serbian mobile operators have switched on 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, covering all the
country’s major population centers. This is an important step towards equipping the country with
faster Internet access on mobile devices. Mobile telephone providers are rolling out new
technologies and lucrative value-added services. Operators have continued to invest in wireless data
services, which is opening up new sources of revenue growth.
