Kuwait slipped from 45th to 46th position in GCI 2019.

Kuwait achieved maximum scores in smartphone and mobile broadband penetration. Its 4G investment
score also improved by 2 points over last year. Kuwait also receive a maximum score for Internet use
this year. Even so, Kuwait is still below average levels in more advanced ICT technologies. Fixed
and mobile broadband affordability experienced a drop, together with the customer service and cloud
computing user experience. According to GCI indicators, Kuwait needs to improve its fixed broadband
penetration to meet the need for digitalization from its business sector. Cloud computing,
e-government and machine-to-machine services are expected to be key growth areas for the Kuwaiti ICT
sector, with new infrastructure investments creating a wide variety of opportunities for cloud
                    service providers.
