The government also wants to turn France into a major player in the artificial intelligence industry by investing €1.5 billion in government funding over five years, matched by €500 million in private funding. AI advances will involve the scientific and university community forming a research cluster to work at the global cutting edge. There will also be strategic attracting of more foreign researchers. To fully realize the objectives of the AI program, combined with training and research, it will be necessary to think about open data, and the ethics and place of AI in society.
