Jordan is 64th in GCI 2019, one position down from last year.
Jordan’s performance in general has remained stagnant, with decreased telecom investment and
deteriorating customer service experiences. The only improvement this year was in demand for cloud
migration.
Broadband penetration (both fixed and mobile) is below average, and Jordan’s performance in other
enabling technologies is even worse, as indicated by their low GCI scores. This could hinder ICT
development for business use, which is more dependent on fixed cables. In turn, without business
creating online services, development on mobile devices could also be limited.
