The world’s leading information and communications technology (ICT) provider Huawei contributed $4000 worth video conferencing system and technological services to Myanmar’s President’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Lancang-Mekong 5+1 virtual meeting on 24th August, 2020, attended by leaders from China, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, participating countries of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Mechanism (LMC).

The leaders who attended the 3rd LMC meeting, friendly discussed about the corporation projects, analyzed the development of the process, and drew the roadmap for the future businesses. During the online virtual event, the attendees also discussed COVID-19 developments and ways to promote post pandemic socio-economic recovery.

Mr. Win Myint, the President of Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Mr. Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of Lao, Mr. Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, Mr. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of Vietnam attended the meeting.

“We are honored to be supporting the Lancang-Mekong 5+1 virtual meeting through the provision of HUAWEI CloudLink Room video conferencing system sets. This integrated multifunctional collaborative telepresence system is the ideal platform for collaborative discussions, as it comes with features such as dual-screen functionality, high quality audio and ultra HD video camera capabilities, all accessible through an intuitive touch panel control, for an enhanced online meeting experience. Efficient and effective communications are essential for cross-border summits, with the need for an integrated online conferencing solution especially heightened due to the current COVID-19 climate. We hope that the system facilitated a productive meeting environment at the landmark virtual event, as the leaders from Myanmar and their international counterparts chart the way forward for this fast-developing region, ” said Mr. Ding Zhaoyi, CEO of Huawei Myanmar. Huawei’s video conferencing system and services ensured a smooth and seamless experience for the country’s delegates while they convened online with participants from the other five LMC member states.

Myanmar President Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the contribution and awarded Honor Certificates to Huawei Myanmar. “They are (Huawei video conferencing system and technologies) very helpful and thank you very much for donation.” said U Tint Swe, Deputy Director General of Myanmar President Office.

In June, Huawei donated their Telemedicine Video Conference Solution to Myanmar’s COVID-19 Treatment Center (Phaunggyi), and University of Medicine (1) Yangon. The ICT provider also contributed the HUAWEI CLOUD AI assisted diagnosis and treatment system to the Phaunggyi Medical Center, which came equipped with reliable high speed connection and very low latency to significantly improve the country’s efficiency in fighting the pandemic and assist medical experts by reducing diagnosis times for patient Computed Tomography (CT) scan results.
