[Yangon, Myanmar, 29 September, 2020] – Huawei Myanmar highly praised 36 local outstanding local students on the awarding ceremony of its biggest CSR program ‘Sky Seeds for the Future 2020’ on 28 September and 10 out of the selected students were awarded the special prizes. Although this year’s program was hosted on online platform, it ended well on 25th September under the support from Myanmar’s Ministry of Education, the National Education Policy Commission and Rectors’ Committee.
In this year, Huawei Myanmar conducted an online program in order to increase the flexibility on the program timing, expand the reach of the program and offer more opportunities for participants to broaden their horizons, and promote local education and talent development. Opening remarks for the closing and awarding ceremony were delivered by Dr. Myo Kywe, Chairman of National Education Policy Commission, and Mr. Zhou Kai, Director of Huawei Myanmar Public Affairs and Communication Department.
When the awarding session came, Dr. Than Than Win, Deputy Director General of Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education, Dr. Mie Mie Thet Thwin, Rector of University of Computer Studies, Yangon, Mr. Zhou Kai, Director of Huawei Myanmar Public Affairs and Communication Department and Dr. Myo Kywe, Chairman of National Education Policy Commission delivered First, Second , Third, Active and Social Media Prize respectively to the top ten outstanding students based on the score from their five days period of study, and later followed by a thank you speech from First Prize awarded student Ma May Thu Kyaw of 2020 Sky Seeds for the Future Students.
According to the learning session, all participated students had studied four basic subjects - 5G, AI, Huawei HMS Call, and Cloud Computing, and one major from three selective advanced subjects - 5G, AI, Clouding. As an extra-curriculum, the program introduced Cyber Security, Digital Trade, Digital Economy, Strategic Leadership, and others. It also included a live streaming session with a successful business entrepreneur where students were able to meet the real-time experience from the international. On the fifth day of the program, local Huawei employees shared the instruction about how Huawei Myanmar operates and how they support the good of the country.

U Myo Kywe, Chairman of National Education Policy Commission mentioned his gratitude towards Huawei Myanmar for training local ICT talents and he said “Seeds for The Future program can be regarded as one of the milestones in learning ICT sector where students can enjoy new topics and aspects from engaging different views of technology, as well as a new experience. For now, I am very proud of these 36 students as each of them represents local computer and technological universities across Myanmar and show their outstanding performance during the training period. I believe that they will share and contribute what they had absorbed from this beneficial training back to the respective universities for the growth of Myanmar's ICT industry. Wish all these students will become leaders in ICT sector who can guide our developing country to the state of welfare and prosperity."

Mr. Zhou Kai, Director of Huawei Myanmar Public Affairs and Communication Department announced the closing ceremony of 'Seeds for The Future 2020' program speech and he stated “A week training for “Seeds for the Future 2020” program ended successfully. Thank you all for your hard work and enthusiasm during the studying period. After all these years, Huawei continues on organizing this flagship project globally because we assume that education is the main key to help to improve the standard of the community, the passion of youths is a tool to foster the development of a country, and the future should be crafted by all of us. As for Huawei Myanmar, we would be gratified if this program incited you to learn more about technology and enhanced your talents for Myanmar’s ICT industry. Ma May Thu Kyaw, First Prize awarded student from 'Sky Seeds for The Future 2020 happily shared her feeling "Every moment during this program is astonishing and along with Huawei expert trainers, we were able to learn a unique set of courses about 5G, AI, and Cloud Service. I did not expect that I would achieve the first place as all my friends participating in this program are also outstanding in their own study. For me, 5G is the most challenging subject, but the experts from Huawei helped me to understand everything in detail. Thank you, Huawei Myanmar, for bringing a good opportunity to the students like us.”
Seeds for the Future, one of the biggest educational CSR programs in Myanmar, now has delivered 36 candidates who will be leading Myanmar’s ICT sector in the future. With handful of experience, these students are able to share what they learn, what they know and how they can innovate back to their community. By investing more in youth for ICT sector, Huawei believe that it will encourage the next generation to involve more in ICT sector.
