Huawei Successfully Delivered 14 Youth Open Day Programs in Myanmar in 2019
[Yangon, Myanmar - 18th December, 2019] Huawei Myanmar's Youth Open Day Program has been held for 14 batches from May to December 2019, allowing 240 students of Computer Studies and Technological Universities to participate. The Youth Open Day Programs, held at Huawei Myanmar’s Customer Solution Innovation Center, provided a chance for the partaking students to learn about Huawei's local and global operations, Huawei's cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI, Cloud, Core and Wireless Networks, as well as Huawei's ground-breaking innovations and prospects of ICT industry.
The aim of the Youth Open Day Program is to create the chance for the students of Computer Studies and Technological Universities to develop a better understanding of global latest innovations and future possibilities of the ICT industry, and to contribute the development of Myanmar ICT sector on the other hand.
Last year, with the support from the Ministry of Education, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ICT Talent Development Program was signed between the Rectors' Committee and Huwaei Myanmar. The MoU covered collaborations in 6 areas; one of those is the Youth Open Day Program.
Each of the 14 batches of Huawei's Youth Open Day Program in 2019 invited 30 students for participation.420 students from 25 universities - Yangon University, Mandalay University, Dagon University, Yadanabon University, Yangon Technological University, Mandalay Technological University, the University of Technology (Yadanabon Cyber City), the University of Technology (Mandalay), the University of Technology ( Kyaukse) , the University of Technology (Meikhtila), the University of Technology (Taunggyi), West Yangon Technological University, the University of Computer Studies Mandalay, the University of Information Technology, Myanmar Institute of Information Technology, the University of Computer Studies (Monywa), the University of Computer Studies (Kalay), the University of Computer Studies (Meikhtila), the University of Computer Studies (Pakkou), the University of Computer Studies (Pinlon), the University of Computer Studies (Pathein), the University of Computer Studies (Maubin), the University of Computer Studies (Hinthada), the University of Computer Studies (Thaton), and the University of Computer Studies (Dawei), participated in Huawei's Myanmar Youth Open Day Program, learning about latest technologies and the ICT sector.
Huawei Myanmar's CEO Mr.Ding Zhaoyi said, " We are now seeing a big surge in ICT innovation worldwide. New technologies such as 5G, AI, and cloud computing are becoming more important than ever, marking a new cycle for the ICT industry which is leading the way towards the proliferation of digital economies and an intelligent world.. Youth participants of the program have now learned about such advanced technologies in our Huawei CSIC. No talent, no future. Youths are the future of Myanmar. We have committed to enhance technical competencies of Myanmar people in ICT sector. So, we have initiated 'ICT Talent Development' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program since 2013."
