Huawei ICT Academy: Building a sustainable talent ecosystem grounded in openness, collaboration, and shared success

At Huawei, we advocate openness, collaboration, and shared success in a sustainable talent ecosystem. We empower teachers, students, industry professionals, and lifelong learners. We drive the ICT industry forward by cultivating high-caliber, interdisciplinary talent with the digital and intelligent skills needed for enterprise innovation. This enriches the local supply of ICT professionals for communities around the world, enabling them to seize the opportunities in digital and intelligent transformation.

With this goal in mind, we have worked alongside more than 3,500 colleges and universities in over 110 countries and regions to train more than 1.8 million students through the Huawei ICT Academy. We also hold the Huawei ICT Competition, providing an international platform for university students to compete and share ideas. The Huawei ICT Academy and Huawei ICT Competition have both been listed as key partner flagship programs by UNESCO's Global Skills Academy.

Huawei continues to invest in a comprehensive curriculum system and platform that enables the development of a sustainable talent ecosystem. For Huawei ICT Academy instructors and students, we integrate the latest industry technologies and best practices into university courses, and provide general, core, and hands-on courses across disciplines like computer science and technology, AI, and software engineering.

In 2025, Huawei introduced 44 new courses and digital textbooks, including 13 AI-related courses. By the end of 2025, Huawei ICT Academy had offered a total of 120 courses across 9 languages, all accessible on its online platform. Our Foundational Software Thousand Institutions Initiative in 2025 covered over 2,000 universities in more than 20 countries. The program is expected to train 10,000 instructors and cultivate 1 million new software professionals.
