Diversity and Inclusion

As one of the world's most attractive employers, Huawei values diversity and inclusion within its workforce and is committed to creating a positive, open, and diverse workplace in which all employees are provided equal opportunities to grow. We adopt an open-minded approach to attract top talent from around the world, and strive to bring together people who are driven to reach new heights in scientific exploration and serve humanity. We have built a diverse talent structure to unlock the full potential of our organization. Huawei values diversity and inclusion within its workforce

Huawei is committed to complying with all applicable regulations, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Our Caring for Employees Policy lays out principles and requirements that cover areas like child labor, forced or involuntary labor, health and safety, diversity, non-discrimination, humane treatment, working hours, compensation and benefits, freedom of association, privacy protection, and learning and development. We never engage in or support any form of discrimination based on race, social origin, caste, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, political opinions, age, or any other condition that could give rise to discrimination. When it comes to important personnel matters such as hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, and termination of employment or retirement, we have well-designed measures in place to prevent such discrimination.

We have released our own Business Conduct Guidelines (BCGs), and require every employee to study, understand, and sign them. These Guidelines describe the legal and ethical requirements that employees must comply with when engaging in business activities. The Guidelines prohibit discrimination, sexual harassment, and violent behavior; guarantee the right to user privacy and freedom of communication; and require employees to deal with suppliers fairly, respect the intellectual property rights of others, comply with applicable competition and environmental protection laws, avoid conflicts of interest, and understand and respect the religious beliefs and customs of the countries in which Huawei operates. Anyone who is found to have violated the BCGs is subject to disciplinary action, including termination of employment and additional legal action if necessary.

We abide by all applicable laws and regulations regarding salary and working hours (including those related to minimum wages, overtime pay, piece rates, and other types of compensatory payments) and implement a competitive compensation system. We regularly conduct compensation surveys and make timely adjustments to employee compensation based on the survey results, the company's performance, and individual performance. Our compensation standards are gender-blind, and we issue a written record of detailed compensation and benefits to employees for every pay period.

We value diversity within our workforce and respect the lifestyles of all of our employees. We aim to create an environment that makes it easy for everyone to practice and follow their own beliefs and customs. For example, we have prayer rooms on our campuses, and halal food is available in our cafeterias. For nursing mothers, we provide nursing rooms. We also provide facilities like cafes, gyms, and libraries. These facilities help us provide quality services that meet the diverse needs of our employees.

We are not only committed to creating a dynamic and creative working environment for our employees, but also supporting equally vibrant space for employees' lives beyond work:

We have also established employee communication mechanisms as part of our efforts to create an open, inclusive workplace that encourages mutual respect and diversity. Every year, we gather our employees' opinions and suggestions through our organizational climate survey, Manager Feedback Program (MFP), the manager open day program, and more. Employees can also report violations, file complaints, and seek assistance through multiple channels such as the dedicated complaint mailbox (BCGcomplain@huawei.com) of our Committee of Ethics and Compliance (CEC) and our HR service hotline. Huawei keeps the source of all reported information strictly confidential and prohibits any attempts to threaten or retaliate against those who report issues within the company.

Story | Listening to employees and improving organizational vitality

Huawei values employee vitality and workplace experience, so we conduct an annual organizational climate survey that covers all employees worldwide. This survey serves as a vital tool for engaging with our employees and driving management self-reflection.

The survey is carried out in Q4 each year, followed by an analysis in the first quarter of the next year to identify areas for improvement. The management team of each department reviews survey findings and converts employee feedback into a management action plan to ensure our employees' suggestions are reflected in management practices. In 2025, 140,000 employees across more than 160 countries and regions participated in the survey. This bottom-up feedback mechanism helps enhance organizational vitality and foster a culture in which employees feel valued and respected.
