Oi and Huawei jointly launch OTN private line for the corporate market

[Brazil, April 13, 2021] Oi and Huawei have joined forces to provide a premium private line solution based on optical transport networks (OTN) for the corporate market. The announcement was made by Huawei along with its financial results for 2020, which were published last week.

In the announcement, Huawei confirmed that "Huawei and Oi launched the first premium OTN private line service in Brazil, providing private line connections with ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability for the finance sector and other industries."

The Chinese company continued, "This laid a solid foundation that helped Brazilian businesses fight the pandemic and accelerate their digital transformation." The corporate market was one of the main drivers of Huawei's growth over the past year. The provider also highlighted its storage solutions agreement with Itaú Unibanco in Brazil.

Speaking to TELETIME, Oi confirmed that the premium private line would be available through its Oi Soluções ("Oi Solutions") division, which is focused on the B2B market. The company indicated that it had already tested the new solution and that "it is capable of meeting the specific demands of businesses."
