The AI-powered transformation of industries is creating a golden era for data – or, perhaps more accurately, an era in which data will become as valuable as gold.
Around the world, all industries are continuously seeking ways to monetize artificial intelligence. In this quest, they are trying to integrate advanced technologies such as generative AI and open-source large language models into their core business.
This requires them to make full use of data assets and provide one-stop solutions enabling services to AI apps. These developments place greater demands on data storage systems, service capabilities, and business models.

Data lakes are centralized storage systems that hold vast amounts of raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Unlike traditional databases, they allow data to be stored in its native format until it is needed for analysis or processing.
"AI-ready" means the lake is optimized for AI and machine learning (ML) workflows. This includes fast access to large datasets, integrating existing network capabilities with AI / ML tools and frameworks, and, of course, the ability to handle massive volumes of data and accelerate data sharing and flow– critical for training AI models.
Moreover, when AI comes, the cold data will get smaller and smaller while warm data will get bigger and bigger. That's because data, regardless of whether it is historical or current, is assets and knowledge.
