Tech can help SMEs grow – if they can just find time to digitalize

(Jan. 2024) Small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) make enormous contributions to the global economy. Yet less than 1% of them do business outside of their home markets. 

Technology can help small firms grow their business and their revenues, says Horst Heitz, head of the Steering Committee at SME Connect, a communications platform for SMEs. 

Many smaller companies want to digitalize their operations for greater efficiency, but lack the time or expertise to do it right.   

The key, Heitz says, is taking digital transformation one step at a time.
