Huawei teams up with Zode to spur e-commerce in Saudi Arabia
(March 2024) Saudi Arabia has a growing population of 36 million people with rising disposable income and high rates of internet and smartphone adoption. This lays the groundwork for a thriving e-commerce sector.
“We position ourselves as Saudi Arabia’s home-grown online marketplace,” says Sami Alahmadi, CTO of Zode, an e-commerce company based in Riyadh.
In a recent edition of Transform Talks, Alahmadi told Huawei Editor-in-Chief Gavin Allen that Zode faces many challenges including building a brand, gaining market share, and optimizing its operations.
That created an opportunity for Huawei. “We are not only providing the basic services,” said Alan Qi, President of Huawei Cloud Middle East and Central Asia. “We also are working closely with Zode to become an innovative e-commerce company, introducing digital humans, live broadcasting, and other new ideas coming from around the world.”
