80% of AI projects fail. Patrick Glauner says that’s okay

(Nov. 2023) AI is set to usher in a more sustainable, more prosperous, and healthier future – even though many companies still don’t really know how to use artificial intelligence.

Patrick Glauner, a professor who focuses on AI at Germany’s Deggendorf Institute of Technology, says some executives see AI as a silver bullet that will solve every problem at a stroke.

“AI is very positive,” he says in a Transform Talks interview with Huawei Executive-Editor-in-Chief Gavin Allen. “But you need to know when to use it, when not to use it, and how to use it correctly.” Some, he says, “just want to do an AI project” – a sure-fire recipe for failure.
