AI resistance is futile - anticipate and benefit from the changes, says John Higgins

(Nov. 2023) The safeguarding framework for AI standards is beginning to take shape. Now, the challenge is how best to adapt to the new technologies. 

In this edition of Transform Talks, John Higgins of the Global Digital Foundation discusses artificial intelligence with Huawei Editor-in-Chief Gavin Allen. 

Higgins is optimistic that a balance can be struck between what he calls the Anglo-American approach of letting the free market “have a go,” and the European bias toward a precautionary stance. To avoid “massive batches of unemployment,” he says, the key is to anticipate the job changes and work out how to take advantage of the benefits.
