[Yangon, Myanmar, 8 March, 2019] – More students from technological universities are joining internship program of Huawei Myanmar this year. The regular internship program of Huawei Myanmar has been commenced for three years to offer valuable working experience to young technological university students at the world leading ICT company.

Huawei Internship program has started in Myanmar since 2017 under main purpose of developing more technical resources to support Myanmar’s ICT industry. In this year, a total of 240 applicants were received for internship program and selection process is being started at Huawei Myanmar head office in Yangon.

Huawei Myanmar is implementing internship program in collaboration with respective technologies and foreign language universities. This year, 65 students will be selected for 3 to 6 months internship program. And 20 students will be hired as Huawei employees after internship.

Hnin Ei Khaing, a student from  Technological University (Hmawbi) is one among hundreds of applicants for Huawei internship program. “I am applying this internship program because I hope that I would get many experience as Huawei is an international company. I want to work in Huawei after internship. I did not know much about Huawei before but today when I get here in Huawei office, it is very impressive. I like to join Huawei,” she said.

Htet Wai Wai Phoo, a computer university student, joined Huawei internship program last year. She is now an employee of Huawei Myanmar working as a networking design engineer. “Last year, I applied Huawei internship program and after that, I was able to join Huawei. I am happy here because working environment in Huawei was good and well facilitated. I see bright future with Huawei. I want to be a product manager in the future.” She said.

Mr. Zhang Liman, CEO of Huawei Myanmar said that “No talent, no future. Youth is the future of Myanmar. We have committed to enhance technical competencies of Myanmar people in ICT sector. We have initiated “ICT Talent Development” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program since 2013 and signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government last year. We would like to give opportunity an open eye to the future for the youth before they get graduated.”
