Security Advisory - Path Traversal Vulnerability in Huawei FusionCube Product

There is a path traversal vulnerability in Huawei FusionCube product. The vulnerability is due to that the software uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the software does not properly validate the pathname. Successful exploit could allow the attacker to access a location that is outside of the restricted directory by a crafted filename. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2021-72463)

This vulnerability has been assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2021-37130.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

an attacker could craft a filename in the message to the device.

Vulnerability details:

The software uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a directory, but the software does not sufficiently validate the input. Successful exploit could allow the attacker to access a location that is outside of the restricted directory by a crafted filename.
