Security Advisory - Information Exposure Vulnerability in Huawei Products

Some Huawei products have an information exposure vulnerability. Encryption keys are stored in the system. The attacker can implement reverse engineering to obtain the encryption keys, causing information exposure. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2017-07133)

This vulnerability has been assigned Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2017-2704.

Attackers can obtain the encryption keys, causing information exposure.

The vulnerability classification has been performed by using the CVSSv3 scoring system (https://www.first.org/cvss/specification-document).

Base Score: 5.3 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N)

Temporal Score: 4.9 (E:F/RL:O/RC:C)

1. Prerequisite:

The attacker could obtain the software of affected products;

2. Attacking procedure:

Encryption keys are stored in the system. The attacker can implement reverse engineering to obtain the encryption keys, causing information exposure. 

The affected products could get the update patch from Huawei HiAPP. You can install the update to fix the vulnerability.

This vulnerability was discovered by Huawei internal tester.
