OceanStor ReplicationDirector is designed to manage disaster recovery (DR) service of data centers (DC) for enterprises.

Huawei OceanStor ReplicationDirector has weak encryption vulnerability. An attacker may exploit it to craft server certificate signatures. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2016-05156)

[1] The OceanStor ReplicationDirector has been renamed OceanStor BCManager after the OceanStor ReplicationDirector V100R003C10 released.

Successful exploit could allow the attacker to craft server certificate signatures.

The vulnerability classification has been performed by using the CVSSv2 scoring system (http://www.first.org/cvss/).

Base Score: 4.3 (AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N)

Temporal Score: 3.6 (E:F/RL:O/RC:C)

1. Prerequisite:

The attacker can crack the signature algorithm to forge certificate signature;

2. Attacking procedure:

The attacker uses a crafted certificate to access the network.
