Huawei Optical Access Intelligent OLT Platform OptiXaccess MA5800T Wins 2024 Red Dot Award
[Essen, Germany, July 30, 2024] Huawei's OptiXaccess MA5800T earned Germany’s 2024 Red Dot Award. With its excellent performance and innovative architecture design, this OLT (optical line terminal) product stood out from tens of thousands of others to earn the prestigious accolade. The Red Dot Award not only recognizes industrial design and entire system engineering capabilities of products, but also takes into account the competitiveness of the products being considered.
Huawei's intelligent OLT platform OptiXaccess MA5800T won the Red Dot Award 2024
As we enter the F5.5G (fixed 5.5G) 10G era, Huawei released the next-generation intelligent OLT platform MA5800T early this year. The MA5800T won unanimous recognition from award judges thanks to its five leading features:
- Ultra-high bandwidth: The industry's first 1T ultra-broadband backplane is implemented through ultra-high-speed SerDes and low-loss technologies. To meet future needs, the backplane can evolve to 2T, supporting the coexistence of GPON, 10G PON, 50G PON, and 200G PON.
- Native intelligence: The industry's first distributed computing engine implements application-level poor-QoE identification and open NaaS capabilities through millisecond-level automatic detection, analysis, and optimization, helping operators move towards intelligent ADN L3.5.
- Deterministic experience: The product supports end-to-end deterministic experience, user SLA assurance for specific applications, microsecond-level latency, and nanosecond-level jitter, meeting differentiated bearer requirements of integrated access networks.
- Ultra-high reliability: Fans in different areas work collaboratively to realize zero air flow resistance and ensure that the system still works if a single fan becomes faulty. The forwarding protection is improved, and services are not affected during upgrade or switchover. The overall reliability is improved to the industrial level of 99.9999%.
- Energy saving: The industry's unique five-level intelligent dynamic energy saving and visualized and manageable intelligent meters achieve optimal energy efficiency, realizing high energy efficiency at high load and optimal energy consumption at low load.
"Winning this world-level design award proves the recognition from industrial design experts on Huawei MA5800T products for their outstanding design and performance," says Feng Zhishan, President of Huawei Optical Access Network Domain. "Huawei will continue to innovate and develop high-quality and high-performance optical access products for customers to facilitate the development of the F5G-A all-optical 10G industry."
Germany's Red Dot Award is one of the world's top three design awards together with the iF Award (also from Germany), and the IDEA Award in the US. The three are often referred to as the Oscars of industrial design. The Red Dot Award represents an international recognition of creativity and design. Every year, tens of thousands of newly-designed products participate in the selection process. Award judges follow the principle of "In search of good design and innovation" when deciding award winners.
