China Unicom Guangdong and Huawei Jointly Launch a 5G City Innovation Program

[Guangzhou, China, May 16, 2022] China Unicom Guangdong and Huawei today jointly unveiled the 5G "U-Joy Cities" innovative network program at the opening ceremony of China Unicom Guangdong's U-Yue Service brand. The brand aims to provide fast and excellent 5G networks to better serve smart life and smart industries.

China Unicom Guangdong and Huawei have long been cooperating closely in network innovation. To better serve Guangdong's economy, society, and people's well-being, they are working on a series of new technologies and applications under the 5G "U-Joy Cities" program. The first batch of them will be rolled out in cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Yangjiang. The program will then extend to other cities in Guangdong province, providing innovative 5G network products and services to the public and industries utilizing the unique advantages of each city.

The launch of 5G "U-Joy Cities" demonstrates China Unicom Guangdong and Huawei's determination towards expanding 5G network innovation. In the future, they plan on further integrating the upstream and downstream of the industry chain and continuously extending and iterating the 5G innovative product system.
