Huawei and ICPC Successfully Held Challenge Competitions and Workshops
[Moscow, Russia, October 19, 2021] The 44th ICPC Global Finals were held in Moscow from October 1 to October 6. As a diamond sponsor, Huawei participated in the welcome letter and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. During the event, Huawei also released activities such as the Optical Communication Routing Challenge and Technical Lecture to help competitors understand and learn industry knowledge, which won high praise from coaches, competitors, and ICPC community trainees. In the welcome letter, Mr. William Xu, Huawei's Director of the Board and the President of the Institute of Strategic Research, expressed his warm welcome and gratitude to all the participants, coaches, organizers, and volunteers. At the opening ceremony, Professor William B. Poucher, Chairman of ICPC, presented Huawei with the Global Outstanding Service Award and highly appreciated Huawei's outstanding contributions to ICPC talent cultivation. Tian Xingpu, President of Huawei Russian Research Institute, accepted the award on behalf of Huawei, thanked ICPC for its recognition of Huawei, and said that he would continue to create more opportunities for ICPC talents and realize the vision of science and technology innovation.

On October 4, the three-hour live competition of the Communication Routing Challenge, which was presented by experts from the Optical Business Product Line, was held, attracting 296 contestants. In the end, 30 contestants and 9 coaches were awarded.

From October 9 to October 13, the five-day online Marathon of the Communication Routing Challenge was successfully concluded. Nearly 8,000 competitors from all over the world took part, and the top 30 competitors were awarded.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the largest and most influential college students programming competition in the world, and is considered as the Olympic Games in the programming competition.
