Huawei Malaysia has setup a program with relief kit worth more than RM 500,000 that includes RM 350,000 cash donations, power generators, mobile power banks, skilled manpower and hardware supplies for immediate service recovery to help flood victims and facilitate aid work.
Abraham Liu, CEO of Huawei Malaysia said, "We are committed to helping the communities we serve, and our thoughts are with the affected families in the eastern coast. We are prepared to partner with the Malaysian authorities in any way we can in their relief and recovery efforts. We would like to thank our partners for coming forward and contributing to the cause. We also strongly urge the ICT and telecommunication community as well our partners to respond in the immediate aftermath of the floods. At a difficult time such as this, these partnerships are essential for a quick and holistic approach to disaster relief and recovery."
Huawei’s relief effort in the region is already in progress with the company’s engineers working round the clock to repair the damaged network in the flooded area. A dedicated Huawei technical team has been dispatched to work closely with operators for immediate service restoration.
"We believe that seamless communication is a critical pillar of relief during natural disasters and other critical events in which protecting lives and property is the first consideration. Our foremost priority at the moment is to restore reliable telecommunication network in the disaster-struck area," Mr Liu concluded.
