Digital skills open doors to employment
Inclusive connectivity and digital skills empowerment serve as the pillars of digital inclusion. To bridge the digital skills gap, Huawei works with governments and partners to enhance digital access, deliver skills training, and advance STEM education for underserved communities.
Huawei initiated the Skills on Wheels program in 2019. It converts used shipping containers and buses into solar-powered mobile classrooms equipped with smart screens, laptops, Wi-Fi, and training resources.
These mobile classrooms travel to remote areas and provide free training to senior citizens, women, unemployed young people, and K-12 students. Over the past six years, Skills on Wheels projects have benefited more than 130,000 people in 21 countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, and Peru.
By the end of 2025, the first DigiTruck in Kenya had reached nearly 7,500 people across 38 counties. Find out how one farmer has used his acquired knowledge to benefit his entire community.
