Everyday Heroes: Maintaining the wireless networks of Tibet

(Oct. 2024) At 1.2 million square kilometers, Tibet is one of China's largest provinces. It is by far the country's hilliest and as well as the one with the lowest population density. For Huawei engineers, providing network coverage throughout the vast Tibetan plateau represents a major challenge. But they are up to it. This video, part of the Everyday Heroes series, shows how Huawei engineers hike up steep, wind-swept mountains to reach remote base stations in need of tune up and maintenance..  Says one, "even if the air is thin, we will make networks the oxygen that people can breathe everywhere."
