Nepal Dec' 2024: Celebrating 25 years of innovation, progress, and commitment
(Dec. 2024) Huawei Nepal now celebrates 25 years of innovation and progress in the Himalayan country. Since 1999, Huawei has played a pivotal role in reshaping Nepal's digital landscape, starting with the nationwide 2G network rollout in 2007, followed by the introduction of 3G in 2012, which revolutionized internet speeds and communication.
Following the 2015 earthquake, Huawei swiftly restored over 390 base stations in just 72 hours, enabling critical relief efforts. In 2016, Huawei set up the world’s highest 3G base station at the foot of Mount Everest, further solidifying its role in Nepal’s digital journey. With milestones like Nepal’s first Uptime Tier III data center in 2019, expansion into ISP services in 2020, and recognition for excellence in tax compliance in 2022, Huawei continues to drive digital infrastructure and innovation while continually enabling the ICT industry ecosystem in Nepal. From supporting Nepal’s growth to offering humanitarian aid in times of crisis, Huawei remains deeply committed to a sustainable and connected future for all. Together, for Nepal, with Nepal.
