A new job: On a mission to connect every room in South Africa

Being connected to the internet can change lives. It enables better education, new trade opportunities, and widens career options. 

Siyabong Thomas Shandu is a young electrical engineer from a small township in KwaZulu Natal on the eastern coast of South Africa. In his new job as an account manager at Huawei, he gets to connect homes, schools, and businesses to lightspeed-fast optical networks. And he participates in the first deployment in South Africa of Huawei’s innovative Fiber-to-the-Room solution that ensures that every room and space in a building or campus enjoys top coverage.
