[May 12, 2018] At the 2nd Global Future Network Development Summit, Zhang Shunmao, president of Huawei PSST Marketing & Solution Dept, made a speech entitled "Intelligent Network Enabling the Intelligent Society".
Zhang Shunmao believes that the future network is an intelligent and autonomous network. AI needs to be introduced into the network to enable the network to have the characteristics of automation, autonomy, self-healing, and self-optimization. In this way, the future network will never become faulty, and the automated driving mode can be enabled.
When it comes to introducing AI into the network, Zhang Shunmao points out that 5G is like an energetic engine, far beyond the control of operators' networks. Currently, it is difficult to optimize 4G networks manually. Machines and AI must be introduced to optimize 5G networks. AI may reduce the working hours from dozens of days to seconds through the training of a large amount of data.
On the other hand, the energy consumption problem of data centers bothers countless people. Although PoE technology is known, energy consumption parameters vary. By using AI, people can obtain a better energy efficiency ratio and PoE.
In addition, after core networks are cloudified, the complexity of the core networks does not decrease but increases. That is because a single device is decoupled into dozens of components to comply with the standards and achieve interconnection interoperability after cloudification. In this situation, AI technology provides a strong guarantee for problem solving.
