Huawei Wireless Highlights at MWC 2013
David Wang, President of Huawei’s Wireless Networks division, talks to Mobile World Live TV during MWC 2013 about the company’s new SoftMobile solution and support products.
As president of Huawei’s Wireless Networks division, David Wang introduces our SoftMobile solution during an interview for Mobile World Live at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. He discusses the end-to-end solution’s three keys to achieving MBB business success –broadband, orchestration, and on-demand operation.
“For broadband, now the operators are facing the great challenge of traffic increase. An explosive increase in traffic brings big trouble to mobile operators. Huawei’s SoftMobile solution helps operators leverage whatever they have… whatever spectrum they have, to build a highly-efficient network, to meet the traffic increase requirements.”
“For orchestration, the idea is to help operators to realize this kind of coordination, such as multiple technologies, multiple layers and multiple cells, which really can help to provide the user experience.”
“The on-demand part is the idea of helping operators provide multi-mode to let them monetize their network capability, to provide open APIs to third-parties. We think that is also a right direction for mobile operators, which can not only improve user experience, but also increase revenue.”
The abovementioned ideas are supported by a range of new solutions and products, including BladeRRU, which features redesigned radio head products that use the same look and same size. This enables operators to build mobile multi-band networks, including 5-band, 7-band, and even 10-band. Building a network is easy, just like inserting a blade server.
