Women in Tech: Huawei opens up new opportunities for Kazakhstan women

13 leading representatives of government and media organizations of Kazakhstan visited the headquarters of Huawei in China as part of their participation in the global Huawei Women in Tech program. This initiative is designed to support and inspire women in technology, as well as promote their leadership and professional development.

Asel Moldabekova, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Laura Naubedzhanova, Tatyana Safarova and Bulbul Suranchieva, representatives of the Digital Government Support Center, Zharkyn Shcheglova, certified project manager and ambassador of the Google Women Techmakers program, Nurgul Iskakova, representative of JSC "National Information Technologies", Akmaral Kenzhekulova and Alnura Moldabekova, representatives of the Digital Government Support Center, Aziza Kudabaeva, director of the executive office of Astana hub, Aiganym Aiganbekova, representative of the NJSC "State Corporation" "Government for Citizens", Ayazhan Mukanova, director Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Digital Development, as well as Aruna Amze, founder and publisher of the media publication for women Manshuq and Elnora Rozmukhamedova, founder and CEO of ER10 Media became the participants of the global Women in Tech initiative.

Women in Tech

The Women in Tech program was launched by Huawei in 2020 and has already shown its potential internationally, becoming a global platform for strengthening the role of women in technology. The program was part of the company's strategy to promote gender equality and the full inclusion of women in the technology sector.

Launched this year in Kazakhstan, the Women in Tech program aims to empower women in technology, encourage their participation in the ICT sector and create a more inclusive digital ecosystem in the country. As part of the program, Huawei will conduct various educational activities such as trainings, seminars, mentoring programs, as well as internships and competitions to support their career development.

During the trip, Kazakhstani representatives of the Huawei Women in Tech program visited Huawei's head office in Shenzhen, where they had the opportunity to learn about the history of the company, its products and solutions, as well as advanced developments in the ICT field. Participants in the initiative also met with leading Huawei experts and discuss current issues related to gender equality and supporting women in technology.
The Kazakhstani delegation also had the opportunity to visit Huawei's Songshan Lake Research Center and Huawei's largest global cybersecurity and privacy protection transparency center in Dongguan, where they were able to familiarize themselves with the development of new technologies and learn about the company's large-scale approach to ensuring the security of its products and solutions.

In addition, as part of their stay in China, program participants visited various cultural and historical sites to get to know the richness of Chinese culture and traditions. They also took part in discussions and workshops aimed at supporting women in the technology industry and their active participation in innovation processes.

According to the program participants, the trip to Huawei's head office was a unique experience, allowing them to more deeply understand the role of women in modern technological processes and strengthen ties between different countries and organizations in this field.
