Reshaping Products and Services with AI, Driving Value Leap with Token Monetization
[Shanghai, China, June 25, 2026] At MWC Shanghai 2026, Eric Yang, President of Huawei Carrier Business, delivered a speech titled "Reshaping Products and Services with AI, Driving Value Leap with Token Monetization". He highlighted that carriers can seize the strategic opportunities of the AI era and reshape products and services with AI, while upgrading compute-network infrastructure systematically to support efficient monetization of AI tokens and unlock new growth space for the communications industry.
Eric Yang, President of Huawei Carrier Business, delivering the keynote speech
Reshaping home and personal products: Growing carrier revenue through intelligent services and assured experience
Carriers have a vast user base. Integrating AI into core services to increase ARPU is a key driver of revenue growth. In home scenarios, AI enables multimodal interaction and cross-ecosystem device coordination, delivering personalized and automated smart home services. For personal applications, traditional calling and data services are evolving into personal call assistants and on-the-go AI companions. With extensive customer touchpoints, carriers can deliver ubiquitous, personalized intelligent services.
Carriers can combine enhanced uplink and assured-rate network capabilities with intelligent personal and home applications to build differentiated services that users are willing to pay for.
Reshaping enterprise products: Accelerating token monetization with tiered, integrated compute-network services
AI agents have become a new factor of productivity, driving rapid growth in token consumption. To address SMEs' digital workforce needs, carriers can offer standardized integrated solutions combining all-in-one appliances, digital employee platforms, token services, and private lines. In industry markets, carriers can leverage low-latency, lossless computing interconnect to embed integrated compute-network services into sector-specific scenarios.
Reshaping service journeys: Redefining the end-to-end user experience with agents
With AI enablement, carriers can deliver proactive services across the entire user journey, from purchase and usage to assurance and retention.
Eric Yang pointed out that carriers can pursue a two-pronged approach: reshaping products and services with AI to unlock new growth, while upgrading compute-network infrastructure to enable efficient token monetization. Together, these dual drivers will accelerate token monetization and generate substantial value.
Upgrading compute-network infrastructure to strengthen the foundation of token monetization
Huawei is enabling infrastructure upgrades across multiple layers to support carriers in building end-to-end token monetization capabilities.
- Basic communication network: To support real-time human-AI interaction, Huawei is enhancing uplink and lossless network capabilities alongside continued downlink improvements, following the industry's evolution toward 1 Gbps peak uplink and ubiquitous 20 Mbps experience, while building near-lossless handover capabilities.
- Computing network: This network enables efficient scheduling of computing resources across cities, regions, and hubs, with 1–5–20 ms tiered latency circles, wide-area lossless transmission, and robust data security across all domains.
- Compute foundation: This foundation delivers extreme computing power and efficiency through supernode architecture and compute-network-storage synergy, meeting the demands for low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnect and high throughput.
- AI DC facility: It leverages AI to optimize energy efficiency and power usage, while enabling intelligent O&M across sites.
- Model service platform: Huawei combines its model orchestration and optimization platforms with full-stack acceleration technologies and proven best practices to help carriers build engineering capabilities for large-scale token monetization.
Eric Yang concluded that token monetization will require continued exploration and improvement. Huawei is ready to work with carriers and industry partners to innovate and upgrade compute-network infrastructure, explore token monetization products and services, and build an open, collaborative AI ecosystem that delivers shared success and drives the communications industry forward.
MWC Shanghai 2026 will be held from June 24 to June 26 in Shanghai, China. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions in Hall N1 of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). The ICT industry is rapidly moving towards token monetization. Huawei is collaborating with global carriers and partners to explore 5G-A high uplink and experience monetization, as well as AI-powered business upgrade, through enhanced connectivity and compute. Together, we will seize opportunities presented by token monetization.
