Huawei Unveils the Telco Intelligent Converged Cloud Concept: Accelerating the Shift to AI-Native Telco Clouds
[Barcelona, Spain, March 2, 2026] During MWC26, Huawei debuted its Telco Intelligent Converged Cloud concept and rolled out the next-generation Telco Intelligent Converged Cloud solution. Leveraging a unified architecture and converged computing resource scheduling capabilities, TICC 2.0 delivers “The right computing in the right place,” outlining a clear development path for telco clouds in the Mobile AI era and accelerating the industry’s transition from Cloud-Native to AI-Native.
TICC 2.0 features a converged architecture that harmonizes general-purpose and AI computing. Through hardware-software synergy and unified scheduling, it optimizes the interplay between CPUs and heterogeneous xPUs. This facilitates the seamless scaling of core networks and new AI services, enabling operators to build robust intelligent infrastructure for the AI era.
Accelerating the Evolution Toward an AI-Native Telco Cloud Era
The rapid evolution of AI—from general-purpose large language models (LLMs) to specialized, intelligent applications—has established AI as the primary catalyst for global industrial upgrades. As devices and applications become inherently intelligent, the scope of connectivity is transcending human interaction to encompass a vast ecosystem of intelligent agents and embodied AI devices. Services are shifting toward human-machine collaboration and autonomous agent networking, while network capabilities evolve from simple resource hosting to deep computing-network convergence and intelligent scheduling.
The industry is fast-tracking AI-Native research and implementation. Leading organizations—including the Linux Foundation, Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), ETSI, and TM Forum—are continuously refining technical frameworks and ecosystems. These efforts are accelerating the alignment on unified technical pathways and industry consensus.
Against this backdrop, telecom networks are leapfrogging from Cloud-Native to AI-Native. As the cornerstone of operator networks, telco clouds are pivoting from traditional 'supporting service cloudification' to 'powering smart innovation,' providing the infrastructure necessary for advanced AI services. This evolution is driving a transition in computing power from solely general-purpose computing toward a hybrid model where both intelligent and general-purpose computing coexist. Ultimately, AI capabilities have emerged as the defining backbone of network evolution.
Nevertheless, operators confront critical hurdles in their AI journey: computing resource coordination, multi-generation infrastructure convergence, and the need for rapid service rollout. TICC 2.0 addresses these through a unified, converged architecture that maximizes resource utilization and deployment agility. By doing so, it establishes a robust foundation for scaling AI services and accelerates operator networks' evolution toward an AI-Native future.
Looking ahead, Huawei remains dedicated to driving continuous innovation within the TICC framework and collaborating with global industry partners to seize the opportunities of AI-Native development, jointly propelling telco clouds toward a leapfrog upgrade to power a smarter, highly efficient digital world.
MWC Barcelona 2026 will be held from March 2 to March 5 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.
The era of agentic networks is now approaching fast, and the commercial adoption of 5G-A at scale is gaining speed. Huawei is actively working with carriers and partners around the world to unleash the full potential of 5G-A and pave the way for the evolution to 6G. We are also creating AI-Centric Network solutions to enable intelligent services, networks, and network elements (NEs), speeding up the large-scale deployment of level-4 autonomous networks (AN L4), and using AI to upgrade our core business. Together with other industry players, we will create leading value-driven networks and AI computing backbones for a fully intelligent future.
