Huawei and Industry Partners Pioneer Mobile AI Era with GigaUplink Target Networks and Advanced Autonomous Networks
[Barcelona, Spain, March 3, 2026] At the Huawei-hosted Mobile AI Industry Summit at MWC Barcelona 2026, leading operators, industry organizations, and ecosystem partners discussed the transformative potential of integrating AI with 5G-A. The discussions centered on industry ecosystem trends, service experience standards, network evolution pathways, and best practices in the mobile AI era. Participants introduced the concept of transforming business and network value through service intelligence, network intelligence, and NE intelligence. They emphasized accelerated 5G-A deployment, multidimensional networks focused on GigaUplink, and deployment of wireless intelligent agents for single domain autonomy. The summit highlighted how the convergence of networks and AI can create unprecedented opportunities in the mobile AI era.
Richard Liu, President of Huawei's ICT Marketing & Solution Sales Department, stated that the AI revolution is propelling the mobile industry into the "Agentic Internet Era." By embedding intelligence across the service, network, and NE layers, Huawei empowers operators to supercharge businesses, boost revenue, enhance production efficiency, and enable capability replication. By leveraging the bandwidth and coverage advantages of the U6GHz spectrum, Huawei's full-series U6GHz solutions enable operators to deploy multidimensional networks featuring large bandwidth, wide coverage, and low latency. These networks not only meet the current mobile AI application requirements, but also support smooth evolution to future 6G networks, providing a robust foundation for the mobile AI boom.
The deep integration of AI into 5G-A networks has gained widespread recognition in the global communications industry. International organizations and industry partners, including GSMA, ITU-T, and TM Forum, are actively developing AI application experience standards (AI-MOS) and refining frameworks for evaluating autonomous network performance. These efforts aim to ensure stable and reliable user experiences for multimodal interaction. Leading operators also showcased their progress in constructing GigaUplink networks and deploying Autonomous Network solutions for high-value, large-scale commercial applications. To consolidate these advancements, the summit culminated in the launch of the joint initiative "Build GigaUplink Network, Ignite Mobile AI Era".

Huawei outlined two development directions for the convergence of AI and 5G-A. The first is enhancing network capabilities with Huawei's GigaGreen solutions and GigaUplink technologies. These innovations help operators build networks with superior performance across dimensions like large uplink, high capacity, and low latency. The second direction is boosting network intelligence to achieve higher levels of autonomous networks. This entails creating a hardware-software synergy platform featuring digital and intelligent sites, network agents, and service agents, which will streamline processes and enable single domain autonomy. Additionally, Huawei uses intent interfaces to facilitate rapid connectivity based on natural language and end-to-end automated O&M in minutes across the entire network. This helps operators establish a more intelligent and efficient network operations system. Huawei is helping usher in a new era of mobile AI by enabling the rapid integration of AI with 5G-A.
MWC Barcelona 2026 will be held from March 2 to March 5 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.
The era of agentic networks is now approaching fast, and the commercial adoption of 5G-A at scale is gaining speed. Huawei is actively working with carriers and partners around the world to unleash the full potential of 5G-A and pave the way for the evolution to 6G. We are also creating AI-Centric Network solutions to enable intelligent services, networks, and network elements (NEs), speeding up the large-scale deployment of level-4 autonomous networks (AN L4), and using AI to upgrade our core business. Together with other industry players, we will create leading value-driven networks and AI computing backbones for a fully intelligent future.
