Mobile AI, Indoor First: Huawei LampSite iSharing Advances Intelligent Indoor Networks

[Barcelona, Spain, March 4, 2026] At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei officially launched LampSite iSharing, the industry's first intelligent indoor network sharing solution. This solution tackles the common challenges in indoor network construction and monetization to transform in-building solution (IBS) from digital to intelligent.

Indoor settings account for more than 80% of mobile traffic and 90% of high-value network connectivity. The rapid development of smart factories, telemedicine, and XR is spurring demand for higher network bandwidth, larger uplink capacity, lower latency, and higher-precision positioning. Indoor networks have become a priority for operators, who need to stimulate growth by developing differentiated networks and upgrading user experience. However, conventional IBS has clear limitations. Indoor user experience is hampered by the significant reduction in signal strength when outdoor 5G signals pass through physical obstacles like walls. Legacy systems cannot support high-band deployments at 3.5 GHz and above, which means they cannot support gigabit speeds and 5G-A evolution.

Huawei's LampSite iSharing solution enables efficient investment, optimized TCO, and multidimensional monetization. The solution provides an easy-to-use unified system for single-operator and multi-operator services, B2C and B2B models, and indoor and outdoor scenarios. It allows flexible deployment across diverse network settings while ensuring long-term, sustainable network investment. LampSite iSharing uses a powerful digital-analog hybrid architecture. With industry-exclusive innovations like a five-band integrated pRRU, a three-function integrated multi-mode extended hybrid card (MEHC) board, and RRU-free BBU digital feed-in, the solution simplifies end-to-end deployment and significantly reduces TCO. It uses intelligent functions like high-precision positioning and AIoT to form a foundation for multidimensional network monetization. This enables win-win outcomes for operators, tower vendors, and property owners.

  • For operators, the sharing model streamlines negotiations with property owners and reduces costs in site coordination and deployment. The simplified architecture and RRU-free signal-source design reduce CAPEX by 40% and OPEX by 30%. Macro-micro coordination and ultra-large bandwidth across the sub-3 GHz and C-band upgrade user experience with 30% higher speeds, enabling premium-experience operations and stronger value monetization in the mobile AI era.
  • For tower vendors, one-time deployment enables access by multiple operators. The industry's only five-band integrated pRRU (covering major operator bands and supporting all RATs and full bandwidths) and three-function integrated MEHC board (integrating digital, RF, and data access) greatly reduce construction costs and save cabinet space. The architecture supports smooth evolution to 5G-A, helping maximize overall ROI.
  • For property owners, a single site entry is enough. This shortens the project cycle by more than 65% and significantly reduces disruptions to the operating environment. The multi-purpose network powers diverse services through superior connectivity for B2C applications, high-precision positioning for B2B applications, and AIoT connections, accelerating value realization in business spaces.

Global launch of LampSite iSharing by Dr. Philip Song, President of Huawei Small Cell Product Line

Dr. Philip Song, President of Huawei Small Cell Product Line, said: "LampSite iSharing is transforming indoor networks from coverage-centric to value-centric, and from unilateral investment to win-win ecosystems. Huawei will continue to innovate in cutting-edge technologies and deepen ecosystem collaboration. We will continue to work with partners worldwide to enable the intelligent, sustainable development of indoor networks. This will transform indoor spaces into smart productivity zones."

MWC Barcelona 2026 will be held from March 2 to March 5 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.

The era of agentic networks is now approaching fast, and the commercial adoption of 5G-A at scale is gaining speed. Huawei is actively working with carriers and partners around the world to unleash the full potential of 5G-A and pave the way for the evolution to 6G. We are also creating AI-Centric Network solutions to enable intelligent services, networks, and network elements (NEs), speeding up the large-scale deployment of level-4 autonomous networks (AN L4), and using AI to upgrade our core business. Together with other industry players, we will create leading value-driven networks and AI computing backbones for a fully intelligent future.
