Nov 13, 2018

[ShenZhen, China, November 13, 2018] Huawei today announced the availability of the new [HashiCorp Terraform provider for Huawei Cloud]. This new provider enables users to use Terraform to provision and manage resources, such as networking, compute, and data resources through declarative configuration files that can be versioned and reused by operators building infrastructure on Huawei Cloud. HashiCorp, a leader in cloud infrastructure automation software, partnered directly with engineers from Huawei to deliver this new provider.

“We want to make it easy for users to adopt Huawei as their primary cloud option and leverage the resources and services available,” said Chongjun Chen, VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development from Huawei. “HashiCorp Terraform is a leader in cloud infrastructure automation and provisioning and we believe delivering a dedicated Terraform provider will enable greater adoption of Huawei Cloud. We appreciate the partnership with HashiCorp and look forward to future collaboration with other products.”

“We are pleased to see the introduction of this new provider to the Terraform community,” said Burzin Patel, VP of Worldwide Alliances at HashiCorp. “HashiCorp built Terraform to give users a consistent workflow for provisioning any infrastructure for any application. The joint work with Huawei helps us bring this consistency to operators using these environments, and enables faster adoption of Huawei Cloud around the world.”

The open source version of Terraform provides a consistent workflow to provision infrastructure for private cloud, public cloud, and external services. Users can build reusable Terraform templates to define the topology of infrastructure using code. Terraform supports more than 150 infrastructure providers, over 1,000 different types of resources, and has more than 1,200 open source contributors.

Available as a SaaS or private install, HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise provides collaboration and governance capabilities. For teams of operators, it enables collaboration on the provisioning of infrastructure and a central service registry to publish and discover infrastructure modules. For organizations, it enables policy and governance to confidently provision at scale.
