Huawei Introduces World’s First 16nmFinFET ARM64 Based Networking Processor, Nova

Feb 18, 2015

[Shenzhen, China, February 18th, 2015]: Huawei today introduced the world’s first 16nmFinFET ARM64 based networking processor, Nova, which will be displayed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona.

Nova, a next-generation networking processor, supports GSM/UMTS/LTE FDD/LTE TDD on a single chip, delivering outstanding performance and a best in-class experience. Based on ARM64 architecture and the 16FinFET process, Nova is 67% more efficient than traditional processors and reduces the cost and required power for radio networks while offering improved performance and flexibility.

With Nova, operators will also be able to evolve smoothly to new modes through simple software upgrades. The all-in-one technology also effectively protects investments in hardware and significantly improves management efficiency. Finally, by achieving an optimal level of integration, the high capacity board simplifies site configuration and reduces power consumption.

Mr. Wang Jun, President of the SingleRAN & FDD Product Line, Huawei Wireless Network Product Line said, “The launch of Nova is testament to Huawei’s continued leadership and innovation in the ICT industry. Along with enabling the most advanced mobile network, Nova will provide customers access to the very best mobile brandband experience."
