The theme of this year's World Environment Day is "Only One Earth". From climate change to biodiversity loss to the global pandemic, nature is sounding an alarm that humanity must listen to. In response to the environmental crises that we all face, ICT has emerged a key enabler of environmental protection.
In 2020, Huawei and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) co-hosted the webinar "Tech for a Better Planet" to explore the crucial role that technology plays in mitigating environmental problems. At the webinar, Huawei showcased its technological innovations and achievements in environmental protection to global audiences.
Huawei has continued to invest in new technologies, guided by the strategy of reducing carbon emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy, promoting the circular economy, and conserving nature with technology.
On June 6, Huawei will host the 2022 "Tech for a Better Planet" summit with support from IUCN. Experts from the environmental and scientific communities will share their insights and global practices on how scientific and technological innovations are addressing climate change and protecting the earth's natural resources.
