According to Dorng, starting from 2008, we have seen the traffic increase almost 6 times, but in the meantime, the revenue growth only about 50%. This mismatch between the traffic increase and revenue growth is becoming a bigger and bigger issue for telecom industry. Traffic management becomes the key approach adopted by operators to address the situation.
The key point of traffic management is to empower user and empower operation in order to maximize customer value. Huawei Value Growth Solution (VGS) offers user contact management together with real-time & personalized service capabilities, helping operators empower its customers with premium experience. To do this, operators must transform their operation, especially data operation to support increasing demands of customers and business cooperation. Huawei basically developed phases in VGS to help operators grow their MBB business.
The first step is “Smart pipe” – providing operators with capabilities to differentiate services and by offering customers with the best experience. The second one is “Smart operation”. The idea is enabling operators to analyze the traffic to an in-depth fashion, develop the strategy & design the offerings, and promote these offerings real time via online companion. Customers get on demand offerings and services immediately. All of these consist what we called close loop operation.
