Yang Chaobin, CMO of Huawei's Wireless Network BU, introduces Huawei's SoftMobile, an end-to-end business solution for on-demand and orchestrated mobile broadband.
Huawei believes that the future network evolution lies in the ability to provide operators a simple approach to overcome the new challenges that are caused by increasingly diversified mobile applications. Ultra broadband is the fundamental one for all of these new business opportunities. Multi-radio access technologies, multi-band, multi-layer coordination realizes scalable capacity expansion. It also helps to build the capacity heavy heterogeneous network with any combination of technologies for the baseband and network layers. So network resources, such as radio resource, IP connectivity, computing and storage, need to be abstracted and orchestrated to create the smart architecture, which will make the network more agile for transformation. Based upon the centralized controlled network architecture, operators can provide the third-party access to the end-to-end network capabilities for further development and monetization. We are confident that SoftMobile enables such creation of widely innovative services that go far beyond what we have seen today, providing operators a means and tools to effectively double the revenue by year 2020.
