Oracle is a leader in database. Over the past three and a half decades, its leadership has expanded to the entire technology stack, from servers and storage to databases, middleware, applications (such as ERP) and the cloud.
According to Bart Jong, Oracle is also actively involved in the service market, providing mission-critical support services for complex IT environments, in order to maximize performance, achieve higher availability, and reduce risk. This also reflects a paradigm shift to cloud computing, service-oriented offerings, and the Internet of Things. Such trends propel Oracle’s comprehensive collaboration with Huawei, which encompasses machine-to-machine computing, general communication networking, and terminals.
Oracle needs Huawei to provide all solutions with unified functionalities in a converged environment so that customers can enjoy them in a transparent manner, without having to worry too much about infrastructure. This is the essence of our cooperation, nourished by Huawei’s dominant market position and technological competitiveness.
Jong also mentions that thanks to their collaboration with Huawei, Oracle’s time to market (TTM) shortened, with products now offered in a cost effective and low-risk manner.
