Huawei, Ofac and Infoniqa jointly cooperate in the field of digital transformation
Berne, 26th July 2016 – In July Dr. Mario Magada the CEO of Ofac – Cooperative of Swiss Community Pharmacists –, accompanied by 4 other members of Board and by Infoniqa, visited Huawei in China to identify new opportunities for further cooperation with Huawei in the digital transformation.
During the 5 days in China, the Ofac delegation visited Huawei HQ in Shenzhen as well as the R&D center in Chengdu (Sichuan Province) and met with Huawei executives to discuss about how to strengthen the current cooperation through a better understanding of how Huawei’s products and solutions portfolio can help Ofac in their digital transformation.

Ofac was convinced by the capabilities of Huawei in terms of technology, innovation and availability and decided to further strengthen the existing partnership in the IT infrastructure including private cloud, big data, IAS and PaaS (Platform as a Service), among others.
Ofac and Huawei started their successful partnership in 2014 with the swap of their storage system. At that time Ofac faced a challenge linked to the great quantity of sensitive data in the healthcare field that needed to be processed and stored for at least 10 years and on the other side as well as be available to their thousands of daily customers (pharmacies). Infoniqa suggested a new solution from Huawei combining SSD and SAS technologies which has several benefits, such as enhanced speed and improved performance, and most importantly could be integrated into the existing IT system.
“We are very proud that Ofac has decided to consolidate the cooperation with Huawei, which confirms Huawei’s competitive edge in ICT solutions. Huawei continuous innovation based on customer needs drives our technology leadership forward.” said Kevin Liu, Director Enterprise Business Group at Huawei Technologies Switzerland AG.
“With the innovative and performant solutions presented by Huawei, we, at Ofac, are convinced to have found the constructor able to adapt to our present and future requirements. We think that Huawei will be the right partner to accompany Ofac’s projects of transformation from its IT Architecture to a Cloud Architecture, in order to fulfill the new needs of pharmacy, e-health and global public health.” said Dr Magada.
“We are convinced that with Ofac’s knowledge of their market, the technologies of Huawei and our know-how in the support and definition of solutions in the Data Management, we can ensure a successful partnership.” said Javier Pose, Managing Director at Infoniqa SQL AG.
