Security Notice – Statement About the Media Report on the Use of GEA-1 Weak Algorithm in Certain Phones

Huawei has become aware of the media report on the use of GEA-1 weak algorithm in certain phones. The use of the GEA-1 weak algorithm may affect user data security.
On the network side, it is recommended that carriers disable GEA-1 algorithm negotiation if carriers do not need to be compatible with UEs that support only the GEA1 algorithm. On the terminal side, the latest versions of Huawei mobile phones have stopped support for the GEA-1 algorithm.
