Microsoft released a security advisory to disclose an elevation of privilege vulnerability which exists in the way that the Windows Kernel handles objects in memory. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could execute code with elevated permissions. To exploit the vulnerability, a locally authenticated attacker could run a specially crafted application. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2020-04145)

This vulnerability has been assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2020-1027.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

1. Running the affected Windows operating system.
