Huawei HiWallet App has an arbitrary lock pattern change vulnerability. It needs to verify the user's Huawei ID during lock pattern change. An attacker with root privilege who gets a user's smart phone may bypass Huawei ID verification by special operation. Successful exploit of this vulnerability can allow an attacker to change the lock pattern of HiWallet. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2017-08138)

Successful exploit of this vulnerability can allow an attacker to change the lock pattern of HiWallet.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

Attacker with root privilege gets the vulnerable smart phone.

Vulnerability details:

Huawei HiWallet App has an arbitrary lock pattern change vulnerability. It needs to verify the user's Huawei ID during lock pattern change. An attacker with root privilege who gets a user's smart phone may bypass Huawei ID verification by special operation. Successful exploit of this vulnerability can allow an attacker to change the lock pattern of HiWallet.

Users could get the newest version from Huawei HiAPP and install it to fix the vulnerability.

This vulnerability was discovered by Huawei internal tester.
