[Singapore, 14 Apr, 2023] – Huawei announced the launch of the Tech4City Competition 2023, Huawei Singapore’s flagship ideation competition that seeks to empower youths to build the Singapore of tomorrow through technological innovation. From today till 23 July, youths aged 18 to 35 can register for the competition in teams of two to four members, for a chance to win the Grand Prize of $15,000 in cash.

Tech4City presents an array of opportunities for young talents to develop their ideas and expertise through networking sessions, internships, and skill-enhancing programmes. This initiative underscores Huawei’s commitment to nurturing talents in support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030 to advance the national agenda on sustainable development. Tech4City is also organised in support of the national Digital for Life (DfL) movement, which brings together Singaporeans to embrace digital learning and help one another use digital technologies to enrich their daily lives.

“Digitalisation has always been at the forefront of advocating change and improving lives and livelihoods, it will continue to be a driving force behind Singapore’s economic growth, and create exciting opportunities. “ said Mr Foo Fang Yong, CEO of Huawei International, “this is why Huawei initiated the Tech4City Competition from 2022 to encourage local talents, and young innovators to join hands, to build tailored solutions for a myriad of real-world problems, and to contribute together for a more inclusive and forward-looking Singapore’s growth story.”

Huawei has been working closely with various industry verticals to accelerate digital transformation and contribute to digital economy in Singapore. Tech4City Competition is part of Huawei's efforts to encourage Singapore youths to make use of cutting-edge technology to build a better society for the future. This is also in line with Singapore’s vision towards a digital inclusive society, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to embrace the digital-first world.”

Building from last year’s themes, Tech4City 2023 will focus on amalgamating technological enhancement with creating social impact for more productive and sustainable practices in five key areas: Well-being, Learning, Mobility, Finance and Energy.
