Compiled by The Straits Times and Statista, this annual Singapore’s Best Employers list for 2023 has been chosen based on an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 17,000 employees working for companies employing at least 200 people in their Singaporean operations. The employees were consulted through several online panels and via The Straits Times website, allowing them to openly state their opinions of their employers. The evaluation was based on two distinct criteria: how willing employees are to recommend their employers to their friends and family, and employees’ evaluations of other employers in their respective industries.

Now in its fourth edition, the list features 250 top companies that have won the hearts and mind of employees, out of more than 1,700 eligible organizations across 27 industries.

“Huawei have always believed that working with local ecosystem and local talents is the best way to achieve our shared objectives, it’s even crucial for us to build a strong homegrown talent pipeline in Singapore for long-term sustainability.” Said Mr Foo Fang Yong, CEO of Huawei International, “to reach this goal, we provide diverse learning and training opportunities, competitive career development platforms to recognise high potential homegrown talents and help them excel. We are also committed to nurture the next generation of digital talents through various programs like Huawei ICT Academy, Tech4City, and Seeds for the Future, and provide on-the-job training, industry attachments and specialised courses for fresh graduates as well as mid-career talent. Partnering with like-minded local talents, we believe we can push the boundaries of innovation, to make Singapore a hub of endless digital opportunities, with lasting sustainability and purposeful impact.”

With more than 1000 employees in Singapore, Huawei has over 70 percent local-hired staff providing support in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. It enforces, encourages, and embraces the ‘localization’ of talent and provides dynamic platforms and training mechanisms for career growth and personal skills development.
