Tech4City 2025's Finalist Teams
[Singapore, 28 November 2025] Huawei today announced the winners of the fourth edition of Tech4City Competition 2025, its flagship youth innovation hackathon in Singapore. This year, students and startups were challenged to shape Singapore’s future through technology-driven solutions for social good, innovating under three crucial themes: Smart Healthcare, Smart Education, and Smart City.
Guided by the overarching theme 'Empowering Our Shared Digital Future', the 2025 competition sought to inspire intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable innovations that address societal needs while driving digital transformation, and marked its best received edition to date, gathering over 120 Proposal Submissions, which represents a 70% increase in submissions. These entries came from more than 15 schools, including universities, polytechnics and junior schools. Notably, 65% of the submissions were classified under Onwards Entrepreneurship, indicating a strong focus on scalable projects and cross-track discussion. The Smart Healthcare Theme alone attracted significant attention, accounting for 48% of the total submissions, specifically targeting the ageing population and strained medical resources.
With a strong track record of inspiring over 300 innovative ideas from more than 1,000 participants across its three previous editions, Tech4City 2025 actively champions Singapore's national Digital for Life Movement by fostering digital literacy and innovation for all. The competition also aligns closely with the nation’s Smart Nation 2.0, National AI Strategy 2.0, and Singapore Green Plan 2030, through its commitment to intelligent, sustainable innovations that bridge digital transformation with crucial societal needs.
To empower participants throughout the Tech4City competition journey, Huawei provides extensive technical training via its ICT Academy, encouraging them to pursue Huawei certifications in cloud computing, 5G, AI, and information and communications technology. This robust commitment has seen over 3,000 local ICT talents trained over the past three years.
From a field of numerous innovative submissions spanning both tracks, six teams were recognised for their outstanding contributions. Their impactful solutions effectively advanced the event's major themes, showcasing projects such as accessible public transport applications for the visually impaired, an IoT-interconnected community fridge leveraging EZ-Link cards to distribute surplus food to those in need, and AI-powered essay feedback platforms, among others.
