At the event, Huawei Canada, together with 5GAA member partners, participated in three 5G-enabled proof-of-concept demonstrations. Each live demonstration highlighted the practical applications of ultra-fast, ultra-low-latency 5G technology:
As a founding member of 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), a global, cross-industry organization of companies from the automotive, technology, and telecommunications industries (ICT), Huawei has been defining C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle to Everything) standards and participating in interoperability demo of cellular-data-enabled connected vehicle applications.
“The automotive industry stands to benefit enormously from better, faster networks,” emphasized Backhouse. “With 5G applications that will enable remote driving, ultra-fast download speeds and low-latency safety features, Canada can lead in the development of the global automotive connected-car ecosystem.”
