Huawei contributes its Technologies to Join Malaysia’s Fight against COVID-19

[Kuala Lumpur, April 9, 2020] Malaysia’s Ministry of Health received four technology solutions from Huawei Malaysia to assist in the nation’s attempts to combat the spread of COVID-19.
With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the effectiveness of communication and data exchange is essential in screening for infected individuals and controlling the spread of infection. Huawei’s Public Health Event Emergency Response Solution will enable healthcare experts to work with frontline medical professionals to conduct remote online consultations with patients, enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment, and ensure there is continuous communication in real-time between the Government and public hospitals, via its video conferencing and wireless connectivity capabilities.
At the donation ceremony between Huawei Malaysia and the Ministry of Health, the Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Adham bin Baba expressed his gratitude to Huawei, sharing: “The Ministry extends its appreciation to Huawei Malaysia for its generous offer to aid Malaysia, especially to our front-liners of healthcare professionals in this trying hour. Through their donation, we continue to press forward in curbing this pandemic as fast as possible."

Michael Yuan, CEO of Huawei Malaysia expressed Huawei’s willingness to support Malaysia in fighting against COVID-19. He told the Health Minister that the Malaysia office has taken stringent prevention measures to uphold the safety and protection of its employees. Its operations will continue to serve its clients, working to guarantee smooth network operation in this critical time.

Huawei Telemedicine Video Conference
The Huawei Telemedicine Video Conference Solution is based on the latest H.265 technology, ensuring a full-HD video experience and capable of operating on limited bandwidth. It provides secure, professional, and reliable audio for all the quarantine hospitals to have a real-time video conference and collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
Hospital Wireless Network Communication Solution
This solution provides wireless network coverage for hospitals, wards and emergency medical tents. With Huawei 5G-powered unique antenna and algorithm technologies, Huawei wireless network communication can provide services with no waiting time and achieve no packet loss during roaming. This allows various users, including doctors in diagnostic rooms, nurses in wards, and epidemic emergency teams to utilise the high-speed network connection in their combat against COVID-19.
AI Cloud Auto Detection Solution
Leveraging core cloud services such as cloud-network synergy, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence of Huawei Cloud and its partners, enables early detection and early diagnosis so that hospitals can swiftly identify the infected patients for early quarantine and receive early treatment.
Huawei Nova 7i (200 units)
Additionally, 200 new mobile phones will be supplied to the ground crews of hospitals to enhance their communication and collaboration network.
