2017.12.21

KUALA LUMPUR, 28 NOVEMBER 2017 – HUAWEI, Malaysia’s second largest smartphone brand, added yet another feather to its cap. Tracking public perception of thousands of brands across multiple sectors in the world, YouGov BrandIndex, has ranked HUAWEI as the top 10 of Malaysia’s 2017 Top 10 Brand Advocacy Ranking, garnered an overall of 68.2 score. Catching up with another smartphone brand i, HUAWEI is amongst the two smartphone brands that made it to the top 10 of the list.

HUAWEI recorded the most improvement amongst the top ten brands, with a total of 20.6 change in score. This is an exponential improvement from 2016’s score of 47.6 to 2017’s score of 68.2. Based on the rankings in Malaysia, HUAWEI is ahead of other international brands like Facebook, Nivea and Prudential, amongst many others.

The survey was conducted by YouGov BrandIndex with over 500 respondents, consisting current and former customers of a given brand. The respondents were asked "Would you recommend the brand to a friend or colleague?" and “Would you tell a friend or colleague to avoid the brand?” for 258 brands, from a period between November 1, 2016 and October 31, 2017. All the brands had been tracked for at least six (6) months during the survey period.

Celebrating this milestone, Bill Liu, Country Director of HUAWEI Malaysia Device Business Department said, “This is the greatest recognition received thus far from the people of Malaysia. HUAWEI is thrilled to be listed in the Malaysia’s Top 10 Brand Advocacy Ranking, which highlights how much the brand has grown and is loved by our customers. This is the very testament we strive for and we are very grateful for the tremendous support Malaysia has for us,”

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Malaysians and HUAWEI customers who have been with us throughout the journey. We will continuously bring in stellar devices and services that will enhance lives and create meaningful experiences for people from all walks of life.” he added.

HUAWEI is experiencing a tremendous growth from 2016 to 2017 with the latest additions to various series such as Mate, P, nova, and WATCH, just to name a few. The strategic collaboration with Leica has marked a new era of smartphone photography all over the world – escalating selfie image quality to the next level by having world’s first Leica-embedded front camera in P10 Series.

The celebratory milestone is further enhanced with the introduction of HUAWEI’s first FullView display, smart ambient front flashlight and quad-camera, all built inside the compact body of the HUAWEI nova 2i. Furthermore, HUAWEI also introduced the nova 2 Plus - the HUAWEI’s first smartphone with 20MP front camera with a generous 128GB ROM that is well-received by the young and dynamic group of customers.

Needless to say, the arrival of HUAWEI Mate 10 and Mate 10 pro has swept the smartphone scene by storm with its Artificial Intelligence (AI). Powered by HUAWEI’s revolutionary Kirin 970 chipset, HUAWEI is bringing the smartphone experiences to life. Photography has never become this intelligent with AI object and scene recognition, where the camera will choose the suitable settings based on your environment. Various icons can be seen on screen to identify the subject such as landscape mode, cat mode, night view mode, and many more.

“All these new inventions have pushed HUAWEI a step further, way ahead, making us the brand with the most improvement as compared to other brands on the list. Our customers are our source of inspiration; all our products are tailored to customer needs through in-depth researches,” said Bill.
